Renewable energy currently fuels 72% of BHC’s production and office facilities, with an estimated 7.5 million kWh generated per year.
This saves approximately, on average, 1,391 tonnes of CO2e emissions from being emitted into the atmosphere each year.
Since 2016, 4.3 million kWh of surplus Wind Electricity has been exported back to the National Grid, in total preventing an estimated 1,364 tonnes of CO2e from being emitted into the atmosphere, and assisting in meeting local, national and global climate change targets.
With our current renewables, BHC can offer a tonne of steel with 49% less associated carbon emissions compared to our carbon emissions prior to the installation of renewables.
