240 ft x 64 ft dairy shed incorporating two De Leval robotic milkers with internal feed passage and lean-to’s for robotic feed pusher and robotic scraper charging.

The shed has capacity for 128 cows in cubicles and slatted passages suspended over a 500,000 gallon underground tank and a straw bedded separation pen behind the robots. There are 8 bays of ventilation curtains controlled by a weather station on site. The wet rooms and robot rooms have cast in situ walls with precast concrete hollow core sealings.

Greenhill systems polycarbonate heatgaurd rooflights were used to increase natural light while reducing solar gain with an open-protected roof ridge to aid ventilation in the shed.

Throwback Thursday: Sheep Shed

A throwback to 2018 when we were on site delivering two bespoke Sheep Sheds at a farm in Tweedsmuir.

BHC were involved from the very beginning of the project with our architect team achieving Planning Permission and Building Warrant for the 160ft x 30ft and 120ft x 80ft portal framed sheds.

Nearing Completion of a Cubicle Shed

BHC are nearing completion of a 140′ x 96′ Cubicle Shed with a 50,000 gallon shuttered concrete slurry tank.

Our works included the supply, delivery and erection of the portal framed shed including concrete works and internal fit-out.

This project has come a long way since Summer when we started laying the foundations for the Slatted Shed with 190ft x 75ft x 10ft deep Underground Slurry Tank.

Throwback to 2017 when we completed a new Calf Shed for a client in Sanquhar. BHC was responsible for constructing a 100’ x 75’ portal frame, concrete works and the internal fit-out including a Bull Section, Group Calving Section and Individual Calving Pens.
