BHC are nearing completion of a 140′ x 96′ Cubicle Shed with a 50,000 gallon shuttered concrete slurry tank.
Our works included the supply, delivery and erection of the portal framed shed including concrete works and internal fit-out.

Renewable energy currently fuels 72% of BHC’s production and office facilities, with an estimated 7.5 million kWh generated per year.
This saves approximately, on average, 1,391 tonnes of CO2e emissions from being emitted into the atmosphere each year.
Since 2016, 4.3 million kWh of surplus Wind Electricity has been exported back to the National Grid, in total preventing an estimated 1,364 tonnes of CO2e from being emitted into the atmosphere, and assisting in meeting local, national and global climate change targets.
Our Approach on Sustainability
BHC has plans to become 100% energy self-sufficient with the addition of further sustainability measure such as an Anaerobic Digestion Plant. It is estimated that the AD Plant will produce an additional 4.4 million kWh of carbon-free electricity per annum.
Along with our Wind Turbine, we will produce 5.8 million kWh of ‘Green Electricity’ per annum, almost double our forecasted requirement.
Our Carbon Footprint
With our current renewables (BHC B), BHC can offer a tonne of steel with 49% less associated carbon emissions compared to our carbon emissions prior to the installation of renewables (BHC A).
With the installation of an additional Wind Turbine, BHC can offer a tonne of steel with 61% less associated carbon emissions (BHC Option1).
Additionally, with the installation of an Anaerobic Digestion Plant, BHC can offer a tonne of steel with 70% less associated carbon emissions (BHC Option 2).
BHC are minimising our impact on the environment and meeting climate change targets in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement and UK Government Climate Change Act 2008, which both stipulate achieving a net-zero carbon target by 2050.

This project has come a long way since Summer when we started laying the foundations for the Slatted Shed with 190ft x 75ft x 10ft deep Underground Slurry Tank.

Our team recently completed a 40m x 30m portal framed Salt Storage Shed for a client in Bonnyrigg.
Not only did our works include structural steelwork and cladding, but we were also responsible for foundations, precast panels and laying the concrete floor.

Throwback to 2017 when we completed a new Calf Shed for a client in Sanquhar. BHC was responsible for constructing a 100’ x 75’ portal frame, concrete works and the internal fit-out including a Bull Section, Group Calving Section and Individual Calving Pens.
